(8th October 2016 – Doha, Qatar) With just a day to go and excitement reaching its peak, Qatar is set to host the prestigious cycling event – The UCI Road World Championship 2016.

Hundreds of the world’s best and most celebrated cyclists have arrived in Doha, aiming to win glory and honour for their respective countries. With more than 500 million viewers expected to watch the Championships, these championships mark another first for Qatar, as the first country in the Arabian Gulf to host the UCI Road World Championships.

One of the most popular modes of transportation will be our 24-hour shuttle bus services. Shuttle buses will depart Medina Centrale in The Pearl-Qatar to Doha Exhibition Center (DEC) and onwards to the Large Parking Lot at Katara (near to the St. Regis roundabout). This service begins from 8AM on 8th October and runs through 16th October at Midnight.
It should be noted that 1 hour before each race until 2 hours after each race, the frequency of each bus shall be every 10 minutes. Outside of these hours, the frequency will be one per-hour, departing on the hour (:00) from Medina Centrale and from the Large Parking Lot at Katara (operating in opposite directions).

Sunday, 9th October will be highlighted with the UCI Men and Women Team Time Trials. A complete list of events and race-related transportation & closures follows :

– 5:30am : Sunrise (Weather Forecast : Sunny and Clear, H:37c, L:23c, Northerly winds 13km/h)
– 7:00am : The Hub opens (an exclusive lounge for residents of The Pearl-Qatar)
– 11:30am : Shuttle bus service begins (every 10 minutes)
– 11:30am : Water taxi service begins (every 20 minutes)
– 1:30pm : UCI RWC circuit road closure
– 2:15pm : UCI Women’s Team Time Trial Begins
– 2:15pm : UCI Men’s Team Time Trial Begins
– 4:40pm : UCI Women’s Team Time Trial Ends
– 4:40pm : UCI Men’s Team Time Trial Ends
– 5:00pm : UCI RWC Roads re-open
– 5:12pm : Sunset
– 6:00pm : The Hub closes
– 7:00pm : High-frequency Shuttle bus service ends ; resumes to hourly service Katara-Medina Centrale
– 7:00pm : Water taxi service ends
